If this is your first bull market, you might be wondering: Is the exponential growth phase as intense as people say?

Spoiler: Yes. And then some!

That’s why I want to share my first bull market experience as a new investor. While everyone’s journey is different, this might help give you a sense of what could lie ahead in 2025 and early 2026.

My very first crypto portfolio was $3,000. At the time, this felt like a lot of money to put into something new. Even though I’d been learning about crypto, I was still hesitant to invest.

But once I finally took the plunge, my fears started to fade and I got to witness first-hand just how powerful this market can be.

Bit by bit, I added more, and my $3,000 portfolio grew to $30,000. But what happened next shifted me into complete euphoria.

That $30,000 grew to a $300,000 portfolio!

And you know what? It happened fast.

I couldn’t believe the numbers on my crypto tracker. I kept thinking to myself ‘is this money really all mine?’

But with that growth came volatility.

Some days my portfolio would drop $50K in 24 hours, only to bounce back just as quickly. At first, I thought there must’ve been an error. But no – that’s just the volatility of this market in action.

Since then, I’ve experienced multiple bull markets, and let me tell you, the volatility of a $300K portfolio is nothing compared to one in the millions! Gains and losses can swing hundreds of thousands overnight.

And believe it or not, that kind of wild swing is totally normal in crypto!

Investors who come from traditional markets are often shocked at what crypto can do. What takes a decade to play out in stocks or real estate can unfold in a single day here. This can bring a tidal wave of emotion – euphoria, obsession, risk-taking, FOMO and greed all show up fast and loud.

I’m not suggesting that you will have the exact same experience as I did, but I share this to prepare you for the kinds of challenges and opportunities that a bull market can present. If someone had told me just how wild a bull market growth zone could get, I might’ve been more grounded during that ride!

We’ve coached thousands of DWG students and I see the same things come up time and time again. So many people think it will never happen for them.

Until it does.

In my opinion, we have an incredible opportunity here. The actions you take today could potentially translate to wealth 100 years into the future. So I urge you to mentally prepare yourself for the rollercoaster of emotions to come, and have a plan to take profit when those opportunities arise. Because the last thing you want is to look back in a year and think, I wish I’d done more when I had the chance.
